Point01Ideal for fastening aluminum products

Contact with dissimilar metals or alloys that have different electrode potentials normally causes contact corrosion of dissimilar metals (galvanic corrosion). Geomet® and Dacrotized®, due to their controlled protective zinc layer, which delays corrosion by sacrificing the zinc layer first, provides a long-lasting protective effect on aluminum.

Due to the self-sacrificing protection effect of the metal flakes (zinc) of the film, the iron material underneath gets an excellent protection against rust.

Normal surface treatment is sensitive to heat and cannot resist corrosion in a high heat environment, but since our product does not contain water of crystallization or organic resin, it is less likely for heat deterioration to occur and thus can withstand high heat for a long time.

Tips

Is galvanic corrosion the same as electrolytic corrosion?

Galvanic corrosion, in other words, contact corrosion of dissimilar metals, is often referred to as “electrolytic corrosion.” Are these the same thing? Strictly speaking, electrolytic corrosion is what is called “stray current corrosion”, and has come to be called “electrolytic corrosion” for short. Dissimilar metal contact corrosion is a phenomenon in which contact points between different types of metals rust, and stray current corrosion is corrosion caused by a current (stray current) flowing into places it should not go. Be careful not to confuse the two.
